About Emma
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr Emma Girling
As a clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience, I use a range of evidence-based assessments and interventions to enable fresh understanding and ideas. We will work together to understand your child’s challenges, talents and aspirations, and to help them move forwards and reach their potential.
Since qualifying in 2001, I have specialised in supporting people affected by conditions such as ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties. I have extensive experience in using evidence-based treatments to help overcome the difficulties which can occur alongside these conditions, such as behavioural issues, anxiety, tics and Tourettes Syndrome.
I am trained to assess and diagnose autism using gold standard, evidence based tools including the ADOS-2. I am also able to offer assessments for other neurodevelopmental conditions and learning differences. I believe that getting the correct diagnosis can be hugely beneficial, making sense of past experiences and helping us understand the support needed to help young people thrive.
