What is it?

Learning to talk is not always straightforward; many children need help in learning to communicate with others. At SEN Professionals we help children learn how to speak more easily and support both family and educators in learning what to do to better support children in their everyday lives.

We see children who have: Language Disorders and Developmental Language Disorder; Language Delay (Language and Communication Need); Speech Disorders; Speech Delay; Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia; Social communication difficulties (including supporting individuals with Autism); Voice Disorder; and Stammering/stuttering.

Speech and Language Therapy and assessments can be arranged with our associates via appointment.

Assessments

As language and communication needs are not always obvious, teachers and educators might suggest visiting a Speech and Language Therapist to have your child’s communication development assessed.

We will send a questionnaire to you and to your child’s school or nursery to aid us in our assessment.

At an assessment we ask for information from you regarding your child’s development and your concerns. We then spend time getting to know your child and identifying where they would benefit from support. We consider your child’s social development, attention and listening, understanding of language, use of words and sentences and speech sound development.

At the end of the assessment we will talk with you about our observations and how they might fit in with what you shared with us. We then plan together the next steps. Following assessment we will provide you with a report which includes recommendations.

Assessments can be carried out in school, preschool or at our centre.

Pricing

Assessments are priced at £400 if it takes place at our centre. We are not currently providing in-home assessments. Appointments have to be prearranged with one of our associates and are dependant on availability.

Therapy Sessions

We offer flexible therapy options for your child with prior appointment. Sessions can be delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly and typically last an hour; they can be carried out at our centre, preschool, or in school if appropriate.

Pricing

With prior appointment and dependant on availability, Speech and language therapy sessions are £85 an hour at the Barn.
