Karen Al Khina
To provide intervention, I work with families through direct individual treatment and/or group sessions, as well as (non-direct) individual programmes (delivered by school staff and/or parents) which are devised, monitored and reviewed in order to support a child’s particular needs.
I qualified as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist in 2001 and am currently working within the NHS and Independently in a variety of settings (both mainstream and special schools). As a clinician I work with children with diverse needs, including Complex, Severe and Profound Physical and Learning Disabilities, Neurological and Neuromuscular Disorders (such as Cerebral Palsy, Hemiplegia and Muscular Dystrophies), Acquired Brain Injury, Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Sensory Integration/Sensory Processing Dysfunction, Sensory-Attachment Difficulties, ADHD and Autism.
